Neptune in Aries: 2026 to 2039 - 40
Neptune entered Aries for the first time in around 165 years on March 30 2025 and retrograded back to Pisces on October 22, finally settling back in Aries on January 27 2026 where it will spend the next 14 years.
Pluto, Neptune and Uranus are all very significant when they change sign as they are transpersonal planets and are keys to the collective psyche. All of them are undergoing a change of sign – Pluto in 2024 to 5 and Neptune and Uranus in 2025 to 2026 - suggesting big shifts which we are all observing in the collective. Pluto has just moved in Aquarius where it will reside for the next 20 years, Neptune is moving into Aries and Uranus is moving into Gemini.
Neptune has spent the last 14 years in Pisces, the sign of its rulership. During this time, we have experienced a breakdown in boundaries of all kinds. Globalization has become a buzz word as the internet allowed the concept of a global village to emerge and we have seen the gender and identity become fluid. Our sense of compassion, empathy, and oneness expanded to include other disenfranchised groups.
During this time we experienced a number of toxic viruses [SARS, bird flu], culminating in the Covid virus. Viruses and the immune system are all part of the domain of Pisces and covid was easily spread through the global village and created massive fear and anxiety, also the domain of the dysfunctional Pisces archetype.
Neptune in Pisces also bought confusion for some, as things that were once certain dissolved, creating anxiety and fear. Now Neptune is moving into Aries, a very different experience, and the world is reflecting this shift.
So, what might we expect this time?
Neptune sensitizes and idealizes the sign it is transiting. It also dissolves boundaries and creates confusion, delusion and disappointment …we can expect to experience this all through the realm of Aries and the archetypes associated with the sign.
Aries is the strong man /woman, the hero, the warrior, the amazon, the pioneer, the adventurer, and the rugged individual who would rather do things alone than compromise. During the next years we can expect people to idealize these archetypes along with apparent strength, individuality, dynamism and initiative, all potentially positive. But these transits can always bring up the shadow of any sign and in Aries this can be the bully, egotist and libertarian.
We can look back to the last time Neptune was in Aries to get an idea of what may eventuate. The period 1861-2 through to 1875-5 was characterized by struggles for independence [notably the American Civil war] and the abolition of slavery [which was seeded when Neptune was in more idealistic Pisces], the increasing voice of the early feminists and the birth of impressionism, a radical new way of seeing the world.
We are already seeing this playing out as an increase in populist movements and a move to the right as ‘strong men’ are revered; increased aggression and possible warfare as means of conflict resolution where the winner takes all; people asserting their rights – sovereign citizen movements and people moving ‘off grid’.
The highest expression of this energy is the Spiritual Warrior who works to protect those who are vulnerable rather than selfishly for personal gain. My advice – as always – is to sit in your heart [Neptune] whenever you feel anger [Aries / Mars] or the urge to rant, demonize the self or others, to demand your rights without consideration of others and ask if your heart what it has to say.
