January 2026 Newsletter
2026 will see a major new cycle begin when Saturn conjuncts Neptune next month at 0 degrees of Aries. This year will also see many other significant transits of the outer planets including the completion of both Neptune’s transit of Pisces and Uranus’ through Taurus which will mean all the outer planets – Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto will all be in yang or masculine signs.
Here are the major transits by aspect for 2026
All of these transits are significant and suggest we are living through a time of shifting paradigms and massive change in all areas, but you don’t need an astrologer to tell you this.
I will reflect on these transits as they become exact, and this month I will focus on the positive potential of Saturn’s sextile to Uranus.
The New Moon chart later this month seems particularly charged as the New Moon [Sun conjunct the Moon] aspects every other planet in the chart except for Jupiter and contains all the key aspect patterns outlined above.
Best wishes for 2026.

The year begins with only Jupiter, Chiron and Uranus retrograde.

The Saturn Uranus Cycle
The Saturn-Uranus cycle is approximately a 45 year cycle. The current one began in 1988 and will end in 2032.
This cycle is said to be the basic engine of western industrial society & free enterprise [capitalism and state-owned capitalism]. It speaks of the practical application of science, technology and invention and presents us with all the gifts and challenges associated with technology along with its shadow.
This cycle is significant for its influence on collective structures and innovation. Whenever these two planets interact—whether through conjunctions, squares or oppositions—they tend to signal periods of tension between tradition and progress. In 2025 and 2026, their sextile encourages us to blend stability with creative change, making it an ideal time to review established routines and consider new, forward-thinking approaches.
This cycle highlights the relationship between
Saturn:
…Saturn can be authoritative / responsible or authoritarian & repressive
And Uranus:
…can be both the humanitarian & the libertarian, the reformer or the anarchist / saboteur, far right or far left but usually more to the right.
This aspect calls to find a bridge between the past and the future, between our need for freedom, change and innovation and our need for stability and security. The sextile suggests the potential of finding responsible ways to embrace change, let go our fear of the unknown and be willing to pioneer the creation of new life structures as well as technological breakthroughs that can enhance humanity.
The sextile is potentially a circuit breaker. This energy can be especially transformative in both personal and professional spheres, supporting constructive breakthroughs.
The full Moon at 9pm on January 3 falls at 13 Cancer
This full moon in Cancer is opposite a stellium in Capricorn formed by the Sun, Venus and Mars. It also contains all the big transits mentioned above [as will the next few lunations]: Saturn sextile Uranus, Saturn conjunct Neptune, Uranus sextile Neptune and trine Pluto along with Neptune sextile Pluto.
Here are the major transits by aspect for 2026
- Saturn will sextile Uranus three exact hits …exact this month [2025 to 6]
- Satun will conjunct Neptune
- Uranus will sextile Neptune five times [2025 to 2027]
- Uranus will trine Pluto 5 times [2026 to 2028]
All of these transits are significant and suggest we are living through a time of shifting paradigms and massive change in all areas, but you don’t need an astrologer to tell you this.

The full moon in Cancer draws our attention to our private life, especially home, family, emotional security and belonging. We may feel called to reflect on who and what nurtures us. Cancer can activate the child within us so we may need to give attention to this part of Self and find healthy ways to nurture ourselves and not fall into the shadow of neediness and dependency.
As this is a full moon it will also activate the polarity of Capricorn it will invite us to see where we may be out of balance here. Capricorn teaches us to set healthy boundaries and take responsibility for ourselves and can be challenge us to bring this perspective to our private lives. The danger is falling into perfectionist patterns that can lead to depression.
With Venus and Mars opposite this point we may also find these issues coming up in our relationships [Venus] but with Mars involved we are called to take assertive action.
This year the lunation will activate any planets or points within a 3-5 degree orb of the 13 degree Cancer full moon - around 1O to 16 degrees of the cardinal signs: Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and Libra.
The New Moon at 6.52am on January 19 at close to 28 Capricorn.
This New Moon is unlike any charts I can remember as the New Moon [Moon conjunct the Sun] aspects every planet in the chart except for Jupiter [where it is in a very wide opposition]. The Sun and Moon are both at 28 Capricorn and conjunct Mars and Mercury in Capricorn, they are also conjunct Venus and Pluto in Aquarius, forming a stellium of 6 of the 10 planets, including all the personal planets. The Sun and Moon also aspect all the other outer planets with a sextile from Saturn and Neptune, a square from Chiron and a trine from Uranus.

Firstly, this is a New Moon in Capricorn, asking us to be more grounded and practical and to look at our lives and assess what needs work and attention and perhaps set a schedule [or at least make a list] of what needs to be done. It is the perfect time for thinking about how we can make our New Year’s resolutions a reality. As Capricorn is known for its perfectionism we need to be aware of what is practical and set realistic goals and plans and not set ourselves up for failure.
The conjunction from Pluto brings an intensity to this process and invites us to dive deep to explore our fears as well as to be willing to own our shadow and not try to control others / impose our will in order to feel safe. The square from Chiron can also be problematic as it can bring up issues of feeling different and not belonging but is always asking us to find ways to accept wounds but do whatever we can to make our peace with them. The sextiles form Saturn and Neptune along with the trine from Uranus all provide support in making positive changes [Uranus] and finding the inspiration [Neptune] and discipline [Saturn] to follow through with our plans.
This New Moon will activate planets around late degrees of cardinal signs and early degrees of fixed signs.
