April begins with Venus and Mercury completing their retrograde cycles.
Note: all dates are for Australian Eastern Daylight Time.
Neptune to Aries
Neptune entered Aries for the first time in around 165 years on March 30 and will retrograde back to Pisces on October 22, finally settling back in Aries on January 27 2026 where it will spend the next 14 years.
Pluto, Neptune and Uranus are all very significant when they change sign as they are transpersonal planets and are keys to the collective psyche. All of them are undergoing a change of sign – Pluto last year and Neptune and Uranus this year - suggesting big shifts which we are all observing in the collective. Pluto has just moved in Aquarius where it will reside for the next 20 years, Neptune is beginning its shift to Aries and Uranus will begin its shift to Gemini in July.
Neptune has spent the last 14 years in Pisces, the sign of its rulership. During this time, we have experienced a breakdown in boundaries of all kinds. Globalization has become a buzz word as the internet allowed the concept of a global village to emerge and we have seen the gender and identity become fluid. Our sense of compassion, empathy, and oneness expanded to include other disenfranchised groups.
But Neptune in Pisces also bought confusion for some, as things that were once certain dissolved, creating anxiety and fear. Now Neptune is moving into Aries, a very different experience, and the world is reflecting this shift.
So, what might we expect this time?
Neptune sensitizes and idealizes the sign it is transiting. It also dissolves boundaries and creates confusion, delusion and disappointment …we can expect to experience this all through the realm of Aries and the archetypes associated with the sign.
Aries is the strong man /woman, the hero, the warrior, the amazon, the pioneer, the adventurer, and the rugged individual who would rather do things alone than compromise. During the next years we can expect people to idealize these archetypes along with apparent strength, individuality, dynamism and initiative, all potentially positive. But these transits can always bring up the shadow of any sign and in Aries this can be the bully, egotist and complete libertarian.
We can look back to the last time Neptune was in Aries to get an idea of what may eventuate. The period 1861-2 through to 1875-5 was characterized by struggles for independence [notably the American Civil war] and the abolition of slavery, the increasing voice of the early feminists and the birth of impressionism.
We are already seeing this playing out as an increase in populist movements and a move to the right as ‘strong men’ are revered; increased aggression and possible warfare as means of conflict resolution where the winner takes all; people asserting their rights – sovereign citizen movements and people moving ‘off grid’.
The highest expression of this energy is the Spiritual Warrior who works to protect those who are vulnerable rather than selfishly for personal gain. My advice – as always – is to sit in your heart [Neptune] whenever you feel anger [Aries / Mars] or the urge to rant, demonize the self or others, to demand your rights without consideration of others and ask if your heart feels good about it.
Full Moon in Libra on April 13
Easter always falls on the Sunday after the Full Moon that occurs on or after the Equinox, hence Easter Sunday is a week after the Equinox and the full moon of April 13 and falls on April 20.
This Full Moon in Libra is exactly opposite Chiron [both at 23 degrees] and square to Mars in Cancer, forming a t-square pattern. Each year at the Libra Full Moon we are challenged to balance our Libra need for partnership, co-operation and compromise with our Aries need for independence and autonomy ...and to reflect on how we are balancing these parts of self. With Mars, Chiron [and Eris] all part of the mix there may be some sense of hurt feelings with the possibility of healing taking place.

This Full Moon in Libra is opposing a stellium in Aries formed by the Sun, Chiron and Eris highlighting wounds and insecurities we may have personally and collectively that come from following - or trying to follow - our own paths and experience autonomy, and the impact that this may have on our need for connection and partnership [Moon in Libra]. The square to Mars in sensitive Cancer suggests the possibility for conflict and hurt feelings.
Chiron’s prominence is always a call to individuate and listen to our inner truth, even if our ego finds that uncomfortable. The challenge is to reflect on how we can do this without hurting others or experiencing alienation. With Neptune’s movement in Aries this is a reminder of the need for balance and to access the Spiritual Warrior archetype for guidance.
Chironic forms of healing may well be very powerful at this time. Homeopathy, energy/ vibrational medicine and attending to the wisdom revealed through our dreams can all be especially potent.
April New Moon & Super Moon in Taurus: April 28
This New Moon is also a Super Moon – one that falls closer to the Earth – and is in fact the closest New Moon Super Moon for 2025. Super Moons impact on the earth’s waters and molten core and can sometimes bring strong storms and flooding as we have seen as the last New Moon was also a Super Moon. Energetically they can have a powerful effect on anyone who is lunar.
The Taurus New Moon falls on April 28 and sits at the apex of a t-square with Pluto and Mars Each year the Taurus New Moon invites us to reflect on our values, resources, and our willingness [or otherwise] to share with others. It may also challenge our sense of security and issues to do with how well we have mastered our senses.

With the Sun and Moon at close to 8 degrees of Taurus and Pluto at 3 degrees 48 minutes of Aquarius this New Moon
may bring up issues around sharing / hoarding, resisting change and a need for control. Mars at close to 4 degrees of Leo is squaring the New Moon [and opposing Pluto] forming a fixed t-square. If you find yourself hanging onto something that no longer serves you be prepared to face the fear and let go if this is what your higher self is asking you to do.
